Pictures of Fly Bites
A fly is an winged insect that has the capability of biting humans. There are several different species of flies, many of which have the necessary mouth parts to both suck up liquid and pierce skin. The biggest danger posed by flies is that fact that they carry a myriad of dangerous diseases, many of which can be picked up by whoever is bitten.
Flies tend to feed on a number of different things, mainly garbage, natural foods (foods we eat), with some species feeding on blood. There are specific labels for flies that can bite, and they are considered more dangerous than other insects in this species.

While there are several types of biting flies around the world, not all species can bite. Some of the more common in this group include the black fly, the Horse-fly, the Tsetse fly, and the Yellow fly. When these flies bite, they have the potential for spreading various diseases, including river blindness, anthrax, and sleeping sickness. Biting flies feed off of the blood of warm blooded animals. |

The fly's mouth is equipped with special parts that allow them to break skin to get at a mammals blood. Once they have broken the skin, another part of their mouth enters the wound to take blood out of the host animal. Biting flies, while not a monstrous problem in the United States, are a big issues in continents like Africa, where they are both more common and more dangerous. The Tsetse fly, for example, is a known carrier of sleeping sickness, which causes a decrease in the body's natural defense systems, eventually causing insomnia, progressive mental deterioration, and eventually death. |
